For everyone who is seeking a deeper and more fulfilling life…
“What Would It Feel Like
To Begin Each New Year
Having Reached One…
Or Two Of Your Cherished Goals?”
From: Joyce Friesen, The Novalis Integra Center
You all know the traditional approach to New Year’s resolutions.
We look back on all the things we meant to do last year but somehow didn’t get around to. Or there are the big challenges that would mean a lot if we overcame them, but we just put our head in the sand not wanting to face them.
But we resolve to do them this New Year, without giving it a lot of thought about what we’re going to do.
You start some kind of ambitious program, and a few weeks later wake up and realize you hadn’t worked on that goal for quite a while.
We start off trying to make progress, and if you’re like most people by the third week of January you wake up and find your brave start has faded away and your life goes on as before.
You once again feel disappointed in yourself and drained of energy.
So what happened?
- Maybe you didn’t approach your goals systematically.
- Maybe the goal needed to be broken down into bite size pieces or….
Whatever the reason, the only effect was to feel demoralized. It made you less likely to pick up where you left off. And it sure didn’t make you want to take on another goal.
Many times this has been my story. Does it apply to you too?
Despite my excuses as to why I didn’t persevere, I realized that most of the time WE are the thing stopping ourselves by sabotaging ourselves.
So I decided to find a solution.
Life is full of opposites. So I looked for ways to turn my weakness into strengths. To turn:
- Doubt into faith
- Despair into joy
- Failure into achievement
- Disgrace into fulfillment
- Fear into courage
And above all to affirm life in all its wonder.
Now consider an alternative: The Change Program.
You make clear, steady progress over the course of the year and you start 2011 feeling full of energy and pride in yourself. You’re clear about your purpose and firmly on your path.
Isn’t that an infinitely better way to go through 2010? Perhaps you’re thinking 2011 is so far away. Let’s face it, if you don’t prepare for your future now when will you?
The Seven Foundations Of The Breakthrough Strategy
The Change Program has Seven Foundations. I call it the Breakthrough Strategy because we will be focusing on achieving specific goals one at a time–at least in the beginning.
The extra benefit of this program is that you can use the process again and again as you set new goals throughout the Change Program and for the rest of your life.
Foundation No. 1: Define The Problem Or Issue
The first part is to find out where you are right now. You need to define the problem that you are intending to solve.
We look at each problem in two parts: where did it come from. What happened in the past that caused this problem? Problems don’t just happen. They have a history. Then we look at the situation now in order to give it context.
Unless the past difficulties are illumined we will just repeat the process no matter how fantastic our goals are. So clearing the past is an integral part of the process.
But you say that you have more than one problem. We all do. But that’s what is so beautiful about the system that I have created.
The process works no matter how many problems. It’s a step by step program.
Once you start, the process will take you wherever you want to go. And if you don’t know where you want to go it will clarify that for you as well.
A critical tool throughout the journey will be journaling. Probably the best way to define a problem is to write about it. While writing often solutions float up from your subconscious and help you take the next step.
Foundation No. 2: The Outer Landscape
What is your mental landscape around the problem?
Journaling can help clarify your thoughts around the issue. Also, your beliefs about a problem will be the driving force as to why you have the problem. A focused exercise can easily determine those subconscious forces.
How are you feeling about the issue? Here also, through a structured exercise you will begin to discover what emotions are holding you back.
Foundation No 3: The Inner Landscape
Unless the changes we desire are aligned with our essence—our heart and soul, we will not get the joy and satisfaction that we seek.
What so often happens is that there are many different and useful tools and techniques to reprogram our mind, but until our mind is in the service of our heart and soul, our accomplishments will not bring us the fulfillment we are looking for.
Foundation No. 4: Goals
The next step is to determine what outcomes you want. You have to be clear and determined about what you want but flexible about how it’s going to manifest.
Then we do a gap analysis. Where do you want to go, how far is it to get to the goal and what are the tools you need to arrive at your destination.
What will it look like? This is the process of reframing the past painful experience into one which gives you joy and satisfaction.
Depending on the goal, we may break it down into smaller bite size chunks. Once you’ve nibbled away at it the problem is much easier to deal with.
Foundation No. 5: The Change
My research over the years, along with my a lifetime of experience has convinced me about the following facts about change.
- The first step is to define the problem, find our where you’re at right now and clear the past patterns that led to the problem.
- This second step is to take the experience you want to create and make a picture out of it.
- Then you have to align your emotions and your beliefs with your logic or thoughts.
- Our mind is the ruler of our emotions and our body. So until we can create focus and harness our monkey mind into targeted thinking, we will continue to be tossed to and fro like a rowboat in stormy seas with no oars.
- The final step is to take action. Review the results of the action and course correct as necessary.
Foundation No. 6: Time
Positive change, or making progress in your life, takes time. It doesn’t happen instantaneously.
Despite what many experts tell you, there is no quick fix. It sounds good when we hear it and we’re tempted to buy in to it, but in the end we will be frustrated because the results will only be temporary if there are any at all.
What’s more anything that requires your time can be added only if you eliminate something else. This is another the reason for the appeal of the quick fix.
We all have 168 hours in a week. How we use those hours is our choice. It’s not about time management though, it’s about self management.
Foundation No. 7: Support
I have a lot of tools in my toolkit, but I realized from my own experience, that what was still missing was a step by step plan for using all the tools.
The process of change is easiest when you have a system to follow. The system becomes a support but not a crutch.
But also we need a support structure that will work with you as you work toward your goals. When you can plug your issue into a system that works, along with support and feedback you have a winning combination.
What’s So Different About The Change Program?
I’ve spent 1000’s of dollars, no—tens of 1000’s of $ over the past 15 years on my own healing and self discovery.
As I sifted and sorted through all the therapies and practitioners, courses and workshops I attended, I came up with a select few modalities, techniques and strategies that are always guaranteed to get to the root cause of the problem so that it can be eliminated forever.
That’s because they are based on universal principles. They may not be glamorous or glitzy but they do give lasting results and satisfaction.
These I will share with you on your journey of self discovery.
How many times have you gone to a seminar, workshop or even taken a course and felt so excited about your discoveries.
You vowed that you would integrate your new experiences and learning into daily life, but after a short time you slipped back into your old habits.
Sometimes you could revive your enthusiasm but most times not. Until that is you took another workshop.
This program will teach you how to become your own best coach, while helping you decide when you need outer support. And then what that outer support can look like.
There is only one thing that is required from you. It’s your commitment that you will participate fully in your own process of self discovery and transformation. That you hold yourself accountable, which means if you swerve from your course of action, you seek support to get back on track.
I provide the tools and the techniques, but it is you who picks up the spoon to eat.
How It Works
I’ve been talking to a lot of people about how they can best be supported to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Not only that, I’ve spent 25 years in personal discovery and transformation since my 1985 superwoman meltdown.
What I discovered was that making meaningful change is more than just going to a few workshops or reading self development books. That’s not to say I haven’t received a lot of value from my library of self development books. But books are of no value unless you take action on the advice that resonates with you.
The Change Program is about “the more”. The Change Program will have all the features and benefits to make certain you reach your goals and go into the New Year 2011 with pride and energy while enjoying the journey of 2010.
You will work with me at your own pace in accomplishing their goals. Some goals may take months to accomplish; for others there may be a new goal or two each month.
In addition to focusing on the work around the goal, each consultation will focus on themes that prevent you from achieving your goals. As well we will focus on practices that will expedite your accomplishments.
These include:
- How to dream.
- Finding your Enneagram number. For those unfamiliar with the Enneagram it is a marvelous tool for self discovery by finding which personality type you are. You will be able to identify why you have certain challenges and get a huge “aha”.
- Expectations that can lead to frustration when we are attached to the outcome.
- How to flow into an issue by surrendering to it so you can use its power to transform it.
- What to do when family and friends don’t like the “new you”.
- What are the steps needed to face a problem instead of running away from it.
- How to identify goals that come from your Higher Self.
- How to see that you are a creative power and not the victim you may think you are. You will see the hidden aspects of your being, out of which circumstances will grow, so your head and heart can walk hand in hand.
- How to find your passion.
- How prayer and meditation and give clarity and calm.
- How to face fear and doubt and transform them into courage and faith.
- Looking at the killers to any kind of achievement—blame, negativity, judgment (as opposed to discernment), whining, and complaining.
- How to live life from the inside out.
- How to live an integral life.
Before Each Consultation
I will be sending you a form to fill in and material in various formats that help you decide your goal, break it down into chunks, and anticipate and handle obstacles. You will send in a progress report at least three days before the next session with answers to the following questions:
- What progress did you make this month?
- What obstacles (if any) did you encounter and how did you overcome them?
- What will you achieve in the coming month and what (if anything) do you need to do differently in order to stay on course?
- Is there any additional help you need and, if so, what is it?
During The Consultation
There will be a debriefing about the previous month. This can be a very powerful time of sharing your experiences.
We will discuss obstacles you might encounter and also practice to expedite your journey.
Before the end of the consultation, we will discuss the tools and techniques that you will be applying and reinforcing during the month. We will also focus on your intentions.
Accountability and support are critical factors in achieving any goal. During the month you can send me a short email of how things are going and ask any questions that might come up. If necessary, I will reply. If not I will be the witness to your progress.
Consultation Calls
All calls can be recorded if you wish and they will be available within an hour of the end of the consultation.
How The Choice You Are About To Make Will Affect Your Life
Have you heard of the ‘butterfly effect’? When a butterfly flaps its wings, it’s said that it causes a tiny change, which causes another change, and so on for a million changes that finally result in a hurricane on the other side of the world.
It’s a useful metaphor for the decision you are about to make because little changes have big effect, and all the little changes put together in a systematic way will transform your life.
You can begin to flap your wings now by signing up now for The Change Program.
It will lead to you setting a goal that is really important to you,
…which leads to you giving it the time it deserves instead of pushing it into the background or just spending time on everybody else’s needs but yours,
…which leads to achieving that goal,
….which leads to feeling proud of yourself and having both the skills and the energy to continue on the path that will lead you to the life you really want.
The First Step
The first step is a FREE 90 minute New You Consultation to start the journey. I will send you a Transformation Scorecard to complete which will create a framework for our discussion.
I will ask you what are the most important goals you want to accomplish. Then we will book the free Consultation.
My time for the 90 minute FREE Consultations is limited so I can only give 20 consultations each month.
So don’t delay!
