1. Article: Love Your Body Love Your Food
I had intended to write a Blog post about Thanksgiving which happens on October 11th in Canada where I live (although I will be in the US on the 11th).
As I was collecting my thoughts before beginning to write this Awakenings Newsletter an article plopped into my inbox that again showed conclusively the dangers of genetically engineered foods.
Since I’m passionate about avoiding GM foods I feel I must pass on the article to all of you.
But how could I combine thankfulness and gratitude with October as Non-GMO month?

2. Question: What can I do to create a GMO free world?
Make a decision to do it. It’s that simple. Too often we don’t do something because we feel we won’t have an impact. But the truth is we do!
Support the Non GMO project. Click here for their website.
Be a conscious shopper. Know which foods are likely to be GMO, and just DON’T buy them.
Click here to find out how to go Non-GMO.
The Non GMO Project Tip #1 is to: Buy Organic. Here’s what they say:
“Certified organic products cannot intentionally include any GMO ingredients. Buy products labeled “100% organic,” “organic,” or “made with organic ingredients.” You can be doubly sure if the product also has a Non-GMO Project Verified Seal.”
Upon checking products which say “organic” and even have an organic designation on the package, I have found that there are non-organic ingredients listed, such as corn and soy which are most certainly GMO.
Granted they didn’t say “100% organic”, but the implication is they are if you only look at the front of the package.
Unless you read the ingredient label carefully to see which ones are organic and which are not you might assume everything is organic.
So we need to be careful even with organic products, by reading the ingredient label in detail. The only exception is if it says 100% organic and you see the organic certification label on the package.
Educate yourself and others. Share your inspiration and wisdom with others who may not know of the dangers of GMO foods.
3. Be Thankful: Start a gratitude journal
I have a journal in which I write all the quotations I find on gratitude. When I’m feeling a bit down, I read it and realize how many things I have to be thankful for.
Also, at the end of each day I write down three things in my Diary for which I am thankful. It’s a great way to end a day and sets up a wonderful vibration for the next morning.
No matter how our day has gone, we can always find at least three things to be thankful for, even it’s the fact that we’re alive.
Gratitude is like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. There’s no better time to begin than now!
4. Inspirational Quotes on Gratitude
Here are some of my favorite quotes on gratitude.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy
“To receive one thing with joy is to give ten things in return with gratitude.” Sri Chinmoy
“When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I am alive. Ralph Waldo Emerson
