1. Article: Conscious Shopping Conscious Eating

The more I talk to people the more I realize we’ve been duped about what it is that makes us healthy. You might ask how has this has happened? That’s a great question because, quite frankly, the truth is not always that easy to unravel.

What I’ve discovered after many years of research and sifting through all the data and information is that it’s not in the interest of big business, big agriculture, big media or even big government to get you healthy, leave alone keep you there.

If you really want to get healthy and live a vibrant life you’ve got a lot of searching to do through all the conflicting information. And you have to make choices that will cost you money and you often won’t be able to deduct your expenses like you can in our disease care system.

So in this month’s article I’ve begun the process of sharing some of my discoveries with you.

Click here to read my Blog Post Conscious Shopping Conscious Eating where you’ll find answers.

Then I invite you to give me feedback. Let me know if you agree, disagree or don’t care.

4. Inspirational Quotes on Food

Here are some of my favorite quotes on food.

“The foods that prolong life and increase purity, vigour, health, cheerfulness, and happiness are those that are delicious, soothing, substantial and agreeable.” Bhagavad Gita (c. 400BC)

“Thou shouldst eat to live, not live to eat.” Socrates.

“Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity”. Voltaire

“We are all dietetic sinners; only a small percent of what we eat nourishes us; the balance goes to waste and loss of energy.” William Osler

“What kind of food should we eat to achieve purity?….Processed foods may also be eaten as long as they do not interfere with good health. Also, coffee and tea are not good, except for herbal teas. To me, coffee and tea are slow poisons. They just take a little longer time to kill you! Of course, each person has some power of resistance, so if it is a very slow poison, if we fight we can win the battle. But we must not squander our power by using if to fight against these slow poisons.” Sri Chinmoy

“The belly rules the mind.” Spanish Proverb

“If organic farming is the natural way, shouldn’t organic produce just be called “produce” and make the pesticide-laden stuff take the burden of an adjective?” Ymber Delecto

“We are living in a world today where lemonade is made from artificial flavors and furniture polish is made from real lemons.” Alfred E. Newman

“He who distinguishes the true savor of his food can never be a glutton; he who does not cannot be otherwise.” Henry David Thoreau

“If we’re not willing to settle for junk living, we certainly shouldn’t settle for junk food.” Sally Edwards
