1. Musings on Aging

I am constantly aware of the finiteness of life. So I promise each morning to live every moment in joy and gratitude.

It doesn’t always happen that way, but that’s my intention. I don’t want to get to the end of my life and feel any regrets. When I can’t keep my promise I try to self correct without rationalizing and indulging myself.

So here’s a magic formula I’ve discovered. Intention then promise + action = result. Then look at the result and see if it’s what you want. If not, course correct and you’ll be glad you did, because that will be one notch in revving about your self esteem. Building self esteem is a life long process.

So that’s why the April Newsletter is coming out in May.

I had a lot on my plate in April. So when I realized that the choices and decisions I’ve made about how I spent my time meant that I wouldn’t get the Newsletter out in time I started feeling guilty.

Then I rationalized that people really didn’t care if I sent out the Newsletter. When someone asked me where the Newsletter was, I knew that some people did look forward to it.

I realized that I had made a commitment to myself and implicitly to you my readers. Whether you care that I send it out or not, my inner self knows and is taking note no matter what my stupid mind is saying.

What’s more the Universe is watching everything we do and will reward us with many Blessings, but only if we take ourselves seriously and are ruthless in not indulging in our negative fantasies, guilt or rationalizations.

Now back to my musings on aging.

So I’m still cleaning out the closets, nooks and crannies of the past to bring in the fresh air and sunshine of each morning without being encumbered with extra heavy baggage.

What’s the best of all, I can share what I’ve learned to inspire others who feel they might not have options to live a healthy, vibrant life because they are still mired in pain and suffering.

We all can live the life we were destined to if we only have faith in ourselves, faith in God and dare to try!

2. Action Step: You Can Make Healthy Food Choices Online Workshop

In talking with people, I’m constantly hearing words like “I don’t have any energy”, “I’m so tired”, “I wish I could lose some weight”, or “I eat healthy, so I just can’t understand why I’m feeling so bad”.

Can you identify with any of these statements?

I have said all of them in the past. But not anymore—stay tuned and I’ll show you how you won’t either.

What I finally understood is that the foundation of our physical, mental and emotional health lies in every spoonful we eat and every swallow we drink.

But that’s not all. We can eat whole organic foods, but if our stomach is not able to break down the food, our small intestine can’t absorb nutrients, and our colon is so impacted little gets excreted our health will degenerate.

We are what we eat, what we digest, what we assimilate and what we get rid of. It’s just that simple.

Refined white foods, additives, pesticides, refined oils and other refined foods will degenerate our bodies quite quickly.

What’s more we have never in human history had so many toxins in our environment and that’s even before the Fukushima nuclear plant began spewing out radioactive material.

At all times our bodies are in either one of three states. We’re either

  • Degenerating
  • Maintaining
  • Regenerating

So which of these is you?

The time to stop treading water is NOW! It’s time to take out the toxins and put in the high octane fuel.

3. Inspiration Quotes on Aging

You might well ask how can there be any inspiration in aging. Well, I believe there can be. It’s all a matter of your beliefs and attitudes about life.

As I move through my 60’s I’m grateful to just wake up each morning. I feel younger and more alive each day.

I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had even though they have not all be positive. But, they have all contributed to my learning and wisdom.

Here are some inspiration quotes by other people who feel like I do.

  • “Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.” Eleanor Roosevelt
  • “Age is only in the mind.” Sri Chinmoy
  • “If we spent as much time feeling positive about getting older, as we do trying to stay young, how much different our lives would be.” Rob Brown
  • “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln
  • “One of the signs of passing youth is the birth of a sense of fellowship with other human beings as we take our place among them.” Virginia Woolf
  • “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” George Bernard Shaw
  • “People don’t die of old age, they die of neglect.” Jack LaLanne
  • “A graceful and honorable old age is the childhood of immortality.” Pindar, Greek poet
  • “Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.” Samuel Ullman
