Your Bodies Owner’s Manual

Like a car you need an owner’s manual.

You may wonder what a car owner’s manual and warranty have to do with you. Well, I have discovered that car ownership makes a great analogy for our body and our lifestyle.

When you look around, you see that many people take better care of their cars than they do their body.

Taking care of ourselves and honoring our body is critical if we want to achieve our dreams and live the life to which we were born.

Like no other time in the history of the human species, I believe that if we don’t practice extreme self care today, we will end up with some ailment or symptom or illness.

Worse yet we will get some lifestyle or degenerative disease. Obesity, type 2 diabetes, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, high blood pressure, menopause symptoms, and the list goes on…..

They are all lifestyle diseases which if we don’t attend to them will end up as degenerative disease.

Your Bodies Owner’s Manual

The intention of the Creator is that we be born healthy and live healthy fulfilled lives. Unfortunately, this does not always happen. When you are born, unlike when you buy a car you don’t come with a written owner’s manual.

The closest we came to arriving with an owner’s manual was the knowledge of our parents, caregivers and society, as to what we needed to become a healthy, integrated and whole human being.

How many of you would like to have an owner’s manual to follow and regain your warranty? The good news is that you can create one. Just read on….

The following principles are the place to start. To give your body the tools to bring it back into balance and regain your warranty, follow these 3 principles:

1. Nothing heals the body but the body itself, when it is given the proper tools.

2. Patience really is a virtue. Contrary to what the media and the hypsters would have you believe, there is no quick fix.

Having said that our body has amazing resilience. In fact, it wants to heal. It’s trying every moment to heal and regain its balance. It is said that to change a habit takes 21 days. BUT to integrate that habit to make permanent change you have to have at least three months of patience. Then depending on how long you’ve had your ailment add one month for every year that you have had a particular condition.

3. The principle of retracing. Practice and learn to understand completely Dr. Hering’s Law of Cure or the directions which symptoms go:

From above downwards.
From within outwards.
From a more important organ to a less important one.
In the reverse order of their coming.

The good news is that if we start right now looking at our dysfunctional patterns we can start to collapse them, like a set of falling dominos. Indeed the only place to start is where we are at right now. The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.
What’s in Our Bodies Owner’s Manual?

Even though you didn’t come with a written owner’s manual you do have one. The problem with most of us is we don’t know the language in which the manual is written and even when we do, we pretend we don’t understand it.

Here are some of the contents:

  • Signs our body gives us are like road signs when driving and the symptoms are the unusual sounds our car makes when it is out of tune.
  • Emotions and feelings and how to deal with them.
  • How our thoughts and beliefs affect us.
  • The purpose of our existence.
  • How to accomplish our goals and fulfill our vision.
  • What kind of food to eat water to drink and air to breathe.
  • The Golden Rule of life: love myself and everyone else.
  • How to be responsible for ourselves.
  • Balance is the key.
  • Exercise regularly all your life.
  • Live in peace with nature.
  • Live close to God.

Your New Car Warranty

Unlike a car, which you can trade in at any time for a new one, you only have one body for this lifetime.

Each of us came with a warranty, but sometimes our parent’s did not understand the requirements to keep the warranty valid, despite their best intentions. They did the best they could with the information and knowledge they had at that time.

As adults when we became responsible for our own health and well being we may have ignored some of the messages our body gave us.

If we do not follow the instructions in our Owner’s Manual we will void the warranty on our body or at least partially invalidate it. We do this by:

  • Ignoring or neglecting to read the road signs and symptoms of our body.
  • Allowing our fluids to get too low or contaminated.
  • Consuming improper or contaminated fuel.
  • Breathing impure air which will inhibit combustion and lower our energy.
  • Trauma such as a car accident, fall, or any kind of injury.
  • We also inherit certain genetic weakness and tendencies, which will impact on our body. Depending on our lifestyle we can minimize the effect of some of these weaknesses.

Signs Your Warranty Has Expired

  • Our car won’t start on its own. We can’t transform the energy in our fuel, our food, into energy to make our car move, so we use stimulants from coffee to sugar.
  • We get plugged up like a drain that needs to be flushed out.
  • The delivery system for our fluids doesn’t work well.
  • Not enough oxygen is getting into our cells.
  • We are congested.
  • We have infections.

Getting to your destination depends on the kind of car are you driving, in what condition it is, and where you are going. Of primary importance is the engine. If it’s not functioning well, how far are you going to get?

Stage 3: Degeneration Will Eventually Stall Your Body

Voiding the warranty causes degeneration. Disease or “dis-ease” is the state of severe imbalance called degeneration. In a degenerative state you are gradually getting worse until you reach the point on no return.

Our cells are being born, live and die every second. If they are unhealthy cells the new cells being born will be replaced with unhealthy cells.

So why start our discussion of performance with degeneration?

  • In 1900 30 % of the people over 40 suffered from one of more chronic degenerative disease. In 2000 it was 70%.
  • At the rate that degenerative diseases are increasing in our society, it seems that few of us are making the connection between what we eat and drink, our lifestyle and sickness.
  • With all the billions we have spent visiting doctors, going to the hospital, taking drugs and researching disease, why don’t we have a cure?

The cause of degeneration: anything that disrupts our normal metabolic process, primarily malnourishment and toxicity, but also our thoughts, beliefs and emotions.

Our bodies have become landfills with a lot of rubbish in them, and no way to get the junk out.

Foods that degenerate our bodies:

  • Those that are contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, fungus, and mycotoxins.
  • Irradiated food.
  • Food checked out with scanners.
  • Dead food – which means food without any life force—overcooked, microwaved, processed, and refined foods, which contain white flour, white rice and/or sugar. We all know the expression “life begets life”. The consciousness or lack thereof in the food we eat becomes part of us.
  • Foods containing trans fatty acids.
  • Caffeine – Many of us have trouble getting going each morning. We are like a battery that needs to be jump started and kept on being jump started throughout the day just to function.
  • Acidic foods, which cause our body to become acidic. Except for our stomach, our bodies were meant to be alkaline.

Contaminated water:

  • Water containing chlorine and fluoride, and dozens of other contaminates. Prozac and other drugs have been found in ground water in England, the US, and Canada and end up in our water supply.
  • Sewage that has not been properly treated.

This includes the water we drink, bath and shower in.

Poisons or toxins in:

Personal and home care products

  • Cosmetics
  • Clothing
  • Building materials
  • Polluted air

Unhealthy lighting:

  • Any indoor lighting which is not full spectrum.

What Is A Chronic Degenerative Disease?

1. Disease or imbalance cannot occur if there is constant flow within our body, mind, emotions and our heart. Anything that impedes flow causes stagnation or a blockage and causes pollution within the body, which will lead to illness and disease.

2. A disease where you need to take medication for life. Drugs, isolated vitamins and minerals, and medicinal herbs are based on the philosophy of substitution. Having said this, it is true that in acute or traumatic situations we need drugs in order to stabilize us as it no longer has the capacity to do it on its own.

The problem is that once the crises are over we often keep on the same path.

The philosophy of substitution says that there is something missing from the body and the substance we ingest takes over from the body because we believe that the body cannot function properly itself or extract the nutrients from the food we eat.

Diseases, which don’t seem to have a cure:

  • Depression
  • Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Cancer is the last stage of degeneration where cells can no longer be intelligently organized. It’s said that a tumor exists 10 years before it can be detected.

When I was 18 I saw my mother die of cancer. I decided at that time I was not going to die like she did, which is why I have spent my life on a path to discover how to achieve optimal health and well being.

Degenerative diseases have symptoms such as:

  • Feeling down and out
  • PMS
  • Hot flashes
  • Headaches
  • Obesity
  • Fatigue – If we become tired because of too little nourishment, the body functions become impaired, including getting rid of wastes.
  • Joint pain
  • Bloating
  • Indigestion
  • Chronic infection
  • Menopause symptoms
  • PMS

The results of degeneration:

  • Missing work
  • Sick at home on weekends
  • Just plain sick and can’t function
  • Not living life our full potential.

Stage 2: Maintaining The Status Quo—Not Worse Not Better

We take our car in for routine maintenance so the car doesn’t get worse and malfunction.

When I take my car in for servicing, I get a 40-point maintenance check to see if there is wear and tear and if anything needs to be replaced, or tuned up. Then I get recommendations on how to solve the problem.

When is the last time you have given yourself a maintenance check?

Even when our bodies are being maintained we can still be out of balance because eating a balanced diet today means we are still undernourished.

Our food does not contain the same amount of nutrients it did 50 years ago. Even if you have cleaned up your diet and are:

  • Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, eating organic, eating less sugar, refined and processed foods, eating non GE foods
  • Taking some vitamin and mineral supplements
  • Functioning better but are still feeling tired—maybe a little less stressed but you still may be wondering “Is this all there is to life?” or “What is missing?”
  • May still be overweight and suffering from various hormone imbalances like PMS, hot flashes, night sweats.

You are what you eat, assimilate, breath, drink, think, believe and feel.

Even at the maintenance level while eating and doing all the “right things”, a 2003 Center for Disease Control study found that of 210 chemicals tested in a group of people, an average of 91 industrial compounds, pollutants and other chemicals were found in the volunteers, with a total of 167 chemicals found across the entire test group.

One of the volunteers was proud of the fact that she ate organic produce and followed all the recommendations to reduce her toxic load in her home and garden. She was shocked when she saw her results.

Stage 3: Regeneration

Regeneration is a state of balance where the body is functioning optimally as it was intended. When it is fully regenerated you are:

  • Excited about life, energetic
  • Lean at your ideal weight
  • Symptom free
  • Beautiful, radiant
  • Your inner terrain is balanced so you have a strong immune system
  • Your body is constantly rebuilding. Old cells are being replaced with new healthy cells of higher quality. It takes 5 – 7 times the normal amount of nutrition to build and repair than it does to maintain. You are eating as much pure whole, raw and live food as possible.

What kind of car do you want to drive? As Carolyn Myss said, “Your biography becomes your biology”. To determine the model and year of the car you are currently driving, I have found creating a time line an incredibly useful exercise. Then you can decide how to upgrade the model without selling the car.

  • If you have not already created one, start by noting on a big piece of paper, all the emotional and physical events that have happened in your life.
  • Note your age along with the event.
  • Then circle the significant emotional and physical events.
  • Evaluate them as positive (+), negative (-), or neutral (+,-).

Draw a line on another piece of paper. Take the major positive and negative events and write them on this line starting from birth or before, noting whether the event was positive or negative.

Beside each of the positive experiences note what strength you derived from it or what benefit you gained from its resolution.

Beside the negative experiences note whether the issue or health challenge created has been resolved or not. If resolved note the benefit or strength you gained from its resolution.

On a separate sheet of paper, for each major negative unresolved experience, note what you are doing currently to resolve it. Anything unresolved is preventing you from smooth driving. If unresolved, list some ways you could resolve these problems.

The negative experiences and problems if unresolved will eventually cause degeneration.

I have used this strategy for my own evolution and have found it a valuable tool in my kit for regeneration.
